Charlie created The Quantum Age of IT as his “manifesto”, of sorts. It represents both his vision of what is to come for IT organizations everywhere and also a call to action for IT professionals to take control of their own destiny.
It is founded on a simple belief that the IT organization that has existed for the last 40 or more years is dead. That every IT organization – and every IT leader – has come to an end point crossroads and must decide if they are going to become a Strategic Sourcer or a Strategic Innovator.
Charlie believes that there is no right answer. That both are strategic and beneficial, but that they require fundamentally different business and operational models. In both cases, they represent a shift from the IT organizations of the past to the new Quantum Age of IT.
Most importantly, Charlie believes that this coming age requires that IT organizations transform themselves to embody the 5 Traits of the Quantum IT Organization and that every IT professional must learn the 5 Skills of the New Age.
